American Academy in Rome

The American Academy in Rome is the leading American research institution based abroad. Founded in 1892 and chartered by Congress, the Academy is privately supported and offers pre- and postdoctoral artists and scholars in a wide variety of fields the opportunity to pursue their work in Rome. The Academy consists of two schools: the School of Classical Studies, and the School of Fine Arts. President of the Academy is Adele Chatfield-Taylor.
